Full Potential # 11 - Putting in the Work
What is up everyone? I hope everyone had a great October! This blog is actually coming out a day late because October 31st was Halloween. If you haven't gotten the chance to check out my other posts, please feel free to do so. Also feel free to share this blog with anyone you think would like it. My main goal is to help as many people as I can. This month's blog will be about PUTTING IN THE WORK! Let's get started on taking another step closer to reaching your Full Potential!!!
PUTTING IN THE WORK
I think most would agree that when it comes to people, most everyone wants to be successful. People want to do well and reach their goals, but many do not want to PUT IN THE WORK to really reach their goals. Lots of people just want to go to bed, wake up the next morning and hope that their goals happened overnight. To really be successful in whatever it is, you have to put in the work to get the results you want. Putting in work also goes along with the last blog of TIME. These two go hand and hand. My favorite saying is hard work is key. Whatever you do, work hard at it. Give it your best effort and you will be successful. Working hard is what separates people who are great from people who are average. Whatever it is, sports, school, job, family or relationships, to be successful in them you have to put work into them.
A couple of examples: 1) Sports - If you want to get good at your sport, go to practice and work on getting better, work on growing your skills, push yourself to be better. If you do this in your sport over and over, you will start passing people and become one of the best! Why? Because people don't work hard, they just want to be good and just go through the motions. When people can be doing something extra to make themselves better at their sport during their free time, a lot of people decide to relax, maybe party with their friends or just are too lazy to actually put in the work. What are you doing when nobody is watching? While people are out having "fun" you can be getting better. This next example is 2) Relationships, not just loved ones but all relationships. If you want a good relationship with someone, you need to put in the work with that person. Humans have a desire for personal connection with people. So, what does putting in work with a relationship look like? Spend time with them, do things that makes that person happy, show that you care about them, and respect that person. I want you to think about a relationship that you want to be great, like a family member, coach, teacher, friend or teammate and put in the work with them to create an amazing relationship.
Most people want to be good but don't want to put in the work. Separate yourself from others by just putting in the work. There are like blue prints out in this world on how to be successful and most people refuse to use them just because it is "too much work". How bad do you actually want it? If you really want something, go after it and put in the work. Who cares what other people think? The most successful people in the world almost become obsessed with reaching their goals. They don't care what others think because they know they are putting the work in that most "sane" people wouldn't think to do. But that's what makes them the best in the world at what they do. You get out what you put in. Greatness is never handed out, it is earned by putting in the work and time.
